And What Alice Found There
Around this time last year I was asked by one of my closest friends if I would photograph her mum's wedding the following May. At first I felt honoured to be asked and was really excited at the thought of doing it! But then I realised that May is the time for all my final year uni deadlines, and I sadly had to say no to doing the wedding photography. I was gutted - I really wanted to be a part of their big day but I knew it was just too risky booking anything before I knew my deadline dates. However, after a few months back at uni all our important dates were released and I soon realised I would actually be available for the wedding! I got back in contact with the couple hoping they hadn't already booked someone else, and luckily they hadn't even looked at other photographers yet!
To everyone's delight we soon got it booked and I'm so glad we managed to make things work! The wedding was beautiful - we had amazing sunny weather but not too hot, with gorgeous flowers filling the gardens at Castle Green making it look like the perfect fairytale setting. The bride and bridesmaids looked stunning and the groom shed a few tears of happiness, which is always so lovely to see. The whole day was just perfect - everyone was in such high spirits and being good friends with the family made it a very special experience for me too!
After photographing all day, I eventually had an outfit change and joined everyone for the evening celebrations - this made a lovely change compared to the usual weddings where I leave after the first dance!
Overall it was a beautiful day, and I wish all the happiness in the world to the new Mr & Mrs Taylor!
