In January & February 2015 I travelled to South Africa to volunteer at Riverside Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre near Letsitele in the Limpopo Province. The centre mainly works with vervet monkeys and chacma baboons, but also rehabilitates other species such as Impala, bush babies, and owls. I worked there for 2 weeks, feeding the baby monkeys, collecting and preparing food for animals in all stages of the rehabilitation process, monitoring behaviour, and assisting with the general upkeep of the animal enclosures. While I was out there I was also lucky enough to visit Kruger National Park for a 2 day safari trip. The whole experience was truly unforgettable and I hope to return to South Africa again one day as there is so much more to explore. Big thanks to Oyster Worldwide for helping me organise my trip!
