And What Alice Found There
Things have been pretty quiet on here lately, partly because I’ve been ill with the dreaded cold that’s going around so I haven’t been out hiking much, and partly because I’ve recently moved house and have only just got WiFi set up! Some may say that it's a sweeping statement and many people will argue that their home ground is the best, but I truly believe the Lake District is the number one place in the whole country. From sweeping coastlines to looming mountain peaks and everything in between, the Lakes is a dream for outdoor lovers and city-dwellers alike. Still need convincing? Read on to see the evidence!
To me, Grasmere is the heart of the Lake District and not just because of its geographical location. It's your typical lakeland village bringing together all the elements of the National Park in one place - a friendly local community, homemade delicacies, impressive mountains peaks, quiet country roads, and of course the lake that shares the name Grasmere. Whenever I visit this beautiful corner of the Earth I feel really lucky to live so close by and it's somewhere that I'd love to spend more time. For such a small village there's loads to do, so here's my top tips for having a grand day out in Grasmere...
