Through The Viewfinder and What Alice Found There
Last month I had the pleasure of shooting Harriet & Kyle's wedding at the beautiful Abbey House Hotel in Barrow. It was my first wedding at this venue and it did not disappoint! The building itself looks lovely from the outside with a good sized function room complete with a large fireplace and plenty of character. The ceremony took place in the function room followed by drinks on the patio area outside, and the sun even made an appearance which was a welcome surprise! We had confetti throwing and group photos outside with the Abbey as a backdrop and I then took the bride and groom for a romantic walk into the stunning gardens for their couple shots. The gardens have so much to offer including a lovely secluded bench surrounded by flowers, and some nice areas to stroll and capture the bride and groom at their most natural. After spending time outside with friends and family on the patio again, speeches began back in the function room followed by the wedding breakfast. After the meal the room was changed around for the third time to be transformed into a dance floor, ready for the wonderful cake to be cut (made by the talented Bespoke Cake Creations) and the beautiful first dance to take place. Overall, it was a great day and a lovely venue which I hope to work at again some day. See below for some highlights from the day...
